It is installed at the front end of the crankshaft pulley or timing gear, and its main function is to prevent oil leakage and block external contaminants from entering, ensuring the normal operation of the engine lubrication system. The core function of the front crankshaft oil seal (1) Preventing oil leakage When the crankshaft rotates at high speed, the oil will splash for lubrication. The main sealing lip of the oil seal closely adheres to the crankshaft, preventing the oil from seeping out from the front end of the crankshaft. If the oil seal fails, it will cause the loss of engine oil, which may lead to serious faults such as poor engine lubrication, warping of the valve seats, or even cylinder wall damage. (2) Blocking external contaminants The dust lip of the oil seal (available in some models) can prevent dust, sand, water, etc. from entering the engine interior, thus avoiding contamination of the engine oil and affecting the lubrication effect. The entry of pollutants may cause crankshaft wear, deterioration of engine oil, and damage to the timing system (such as premature aging of the timing belt or chain).
